Brown Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home & CrematoryMarvin Ray McFadden, 72, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on November 8, 2025. He was born in Haskell, Texas, on August 2, 1953, to the late Jim and Argie McFadden.
Marvin's life was one of dedicated service, hard work, and deep loyalties. After working in the oil field for many years, he found his true calling with the Boy Scouts of America. He served as a camp ranger at several camps, including Sid Richardson Scout Ranch, Camp Tonkawa, and Worth Ranch. He served as the Director of Rangers for the Longhorn Council from 2003 until his first retirement in 2007. Marvin loved working for the Boy Scouts and was a loved and respected figure throughout the scouting community.
Retirement didn't suit him for long. He worked for, bought, and then founded a security company, guarding everything from oil field sites to charter schools. After selling the company, he "retired" again, only to begin a new chapter as a security supervisor for the Texas Rangers baseball team, a job he held until 2024. Anyone who knew him was proudly shown his World Series ring.
Marvin had a personality that was larger than life. He was a mentor to many young men and a fierce protector and friend to those he loved. He was generous, and there wasn't a problem he couldn't figure out or a task he couldn't do. He loved fishing with his dad, his wife, and his grandsons.
Above all, he loved his family. Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Beckey McFadden, and his brother, James McFadden. He was the devoted father of his sons and their families: Matthew and Carly McFadden, Mike and Melissa McFadden, and Jeff McFadden. Marvin's pride and joy were his seven grandchildren-Ethan, Nathan, Caleb, Phillip, and Ian McFadden, Sadie and Rhys Sinnwell-who affectionately called him Poppa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mattie Rose Upham.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Church at Benbrook, located at 930 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marvin's name to The Church at Benbrook.
