To Joel and the entire Meyers Family,
Reading the remarkable story of Marvin's rich life and contributions to special education and to veterans of every stripe, made me think of my Dad, who was drafted out of high school and received a Bronze Star for Valor in WW II. PTSD was unknown at the time they served so bravely. I now know that my father pushed through PTSD his entire adult life. Like Marvin, his service to his country and to underserved war veterans was selfless and heartfelt. My own father was my beloved mentor and role model. In many ways, our fathers were global citizens and not simply Americans. Sadly, these are very different times. We can be very proud of the "The Greatest Generation," as journalist Tom Brokaw referred to them in his book.
With honor to a life well-lived! Audrey Benedict

Marvin was truly an American hero in so many ways, as well as being just a wonderful, warm person to all he met.
