Rev. Marvin C. Mobbs, age 94, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was born on March 26, 1931 in Centre, Alabama. He was the son to the late Ralph D. Mobbs and Lela Angeline Nixon Mobbs of Esom Hill, Georgia.

He was a devoted husband and father. Mr. Mobbs proudly served in the Korean War from January 17, 1952 to December 15, 1954. He received the Occupational Medal (Germany) and National Defense Service Medal.

He was also called of God to preach the gospel and pastored several churches for 45+ years and did the jail ministry for years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 86 of Cedartown where he received the certificate of service for Distinguished Service in the US Army.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mobbs was preceded in death by his wife of 71 devoted years, Mrs. Fay N. Wheeler Mobbs; son, Marvin Wayne Mobbs; grandson, Clay Cooper; great-grandson, Samuel Austin Pointer; great-great-granddaughter, Ella Grayce Pointer and siblings, Irene Hill, Josephine Williams Ingram; Edith Glaze Kines, Margie McDowell O'Neal, Harvey L. Mobbs, Houston S. Mobbs, Robert J. Mobbs and John L. Mobbs.

Mr. Mobbs is survived by his three children, Donna Pointer (Sammy), Chris Mobbs (Michelle) and Jenny Cooper; sisters, Joanne Gable and Patricia Cannon (Noel); 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral services for Mr. Marvin Mobbs will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Olin L Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Mr. Sammy Pointer and Mr. Joe Bates officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Northview Cemetery with Mr. Tim Reynolds officiating. Full Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 12 of Rockmart.

The family of Mr. Mobbs will receive family and friends on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from five o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening at the Olin L Gammage & Sons Funeral Home.
