Marvin Don Moore passed away peacefully in Temple, TX, on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Don was born in San Saba, TX, on October 21, 1942, to Sam Moore & Gladys Busby.
Don was a life long resident of San Saba. He graduated from San Saba High School in 1961 and worked for over 50 years as a Masonry Contractor. Don was a hard worker and perfectionist. His work can be seen in countless homes and businesses throughout San Saba County. Most of those working years Don started each day with a gossip session at "The Lumberyard". Discussing football scores and all the happenings around San Saba. He loved spending time and visiting with friends and family.
Don is survived by his wife of 54 years, Julia "Chick" Moore. His daughter and son-in-law, Marcie and Donny Boultinghouse. Grandchildren James, Vernon, Jadeanne, River & Jean Boultinghouse. Great-Grandson Silas Boultinghouse. His sister and brother-in-law, Janette & AJ Walker. His brother and sister-in-law, Steve & Sellie Moore. His sister Patty Lackey. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Sam Moore. His mother and stepfather, Gladys and John Berkley. His brother, Jimmy Moore and brother-in-law Wade Lackey.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the hospice staff at Baylor Scott & White of Temple and all the friends and family that checked on Don in his final days. Plus all his friends we know will be missing him.
In accordance to his wishes, no formal service will be held.
