Marvin Naylor Obituary

Marvin Monroe Naylor, 83, of White Hall, Maryland peacefully passed away at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Shrewsbury on February 21, 2026, with his loved ones by his side.

Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June Naylor, brother Caroll Naylor, his parents Irving E. Naylor and Edith Louise (Wilhelm) Naylor. He is survived by his two sons, Ronald E. Naylor and Michael T. Naylor, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Daniel Naylor, Brennen Naylor, and Claudia (Naylor) Hornbrook. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren-Madilynn Naylor, Riley Naylor, Olive Naylor, James Hornbrook, and Hudson Hornbrook, who brought him immense joy in his later years.

Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Marvin spoke of his sweet gentle nature and genuine kindness. His warm presence and steady compassion left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

Marvin met his wife, June, while working in Havre de Grace, and the two married in 1980. June was a talented singer in the Cold Cash Band, and Marvin proudly traveled with her, running the band's sound system and supporting her passion every step of the way. Their partnership was marked by devotion, laughter, and a shared love of music, the Lord and community.

Marvin was a devoted member of Wiseburg United Methodist Church and an active member of the York County Racing Club. A dedicated sports fan, Marvin took great pride in cheering for the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens, never missing an opportunity to support his favorite teams. His lifelong passion for racing led him to countless NASCAR races at Martinsville Speedway and Sprint Car events at both Lincoln Speedway and BAPS Speedway (formally Susquehanna Speedway) where he loved watching his favorite drivers sharing the excitement with family and friends.

Professionally, Marvin served as a skilled asphalt paver operator for about 45 years. First working for Baltimore County Roads before joining Harry T. Campbell & Sons, in Cockeysville, Maryland, which now is Martin Marietta and eventually retiring from TC Simons. His strong work ethic and commitment earned him the respect of colleagues and the community alike.

Marvin lived a life grounded in love, family, and unwavering dedication. He will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and steadfast support for those he cared about. His legacy continues through the generations of family who adored him.

Public viewings will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday March 2nd at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N. Second Street, New Freedom. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd at Wiseburg United Methodist Church, 810 Wiseburg Road, Whitehall MD 21161. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Scott Schumaker will officiate.
