Marvin D. "Dan" Rudd, 49, of Hamlet, IN, was found passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, after succumbing to injuries received in a car accident. Dan was born on December 8, 1975, in Knox, IN, to Gordon and Christina (Rossetti) Rudd. He had lived in Hamlet for the past year, moving there from LaCrosse, IN. A hardworking and dedicated man, Dan was a proud member of Teamsters Union Local #142 and was employed with Superior Construction in Lake County, IN. He also served as a Union Representative for many years, advocating for his fellow workers with passion and loyalty. Beyond his work, Dan lived life to the fullest. He loved camping, boating, and fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, who meant the world to him. His fun-loving spirit and devotion to those he cared about will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Dan is survived by five beloved children: Danyel (Cameron) Pressel, Ashlynn (Cody) Rosenbauer, MaKenna Rudd, Dominic Rudd, and Sara Rudd; six cherished grandchildren: Gavin Pressel, Greyson Rosenbauer, Garrett Pressel, Benjamin Rosenbauer, Violet Pressel, and Penelope Rosenbauer; his father Gordon Rudd; one sister Laura (Andrew) Wilson; honorary daughter Brooke (Kody) Wilke; and honorary grandchildren Olivia, Joshua, and Ellie. He was preceded in death by his mother Christina; one aunt, Debra Koontz; and one niece, Brehannah "Bubba" Graves. Cremation has taken place. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. CDT on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Dan will be remembered as a hardworking, fun-loving family man whose greatest joy was found in the love of his family and friends.
