He was born and raised in Wise, Va. He was a demolition expert with A & G Coal Co. Marvin lived life to the fullest and will be always remembered for his sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Ollie (Smith) Stapleton; and siblings, Wilma Markham, Claude Stapleton, Sam Stapleton, Sonny Stapleton, Tommy Stapleton, Ronnie Stapleton, Wilson Stapleton, Johnny Stapleton, Elmer Stapleton and Martin Stapleton, his twin brother.
Marvin is survived by his son, Marvin E. Stapleton, Jr. (Tracy), Cookeville, Tn.; two grandchildren; brother, Wayne B. Stapleton, Royal Oak, Michigan; sisters, Diana Shell and Jenny Hylton (Jerry), both of Wise, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private
Gilliam Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the Stapleton family.
