Marvin Woodrow Watson, Sr.

Marvin Woodrow Watson, Sr., of Covington, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 86. Mr. Watson, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He cherished spending time with his family going to St. George Island and the mountains. He enjoyed fishing and grilling out. He also liked gardening. He shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Arlene, a testament to his love and commitment. Mr. Watson worked for Owens Freight Line in Conyers, GA for 25 years. Afterwards he was employed at the Standridge Color Corporation in Social Circle for 10 years. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Wesley Watson and Lucy Jular Evans; and brothers, Elmer Watson, Clarence Watson, and Lee Roy Watson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Arlene Watson; daughters, Darlene Comans (Randy), Angela Alley (Todd); son, Marvin Watson, Jr.; grandson, Caleb Alley; sisters, Clara Collins (Pete), Helen Ellis (Roger); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Watson will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to his service from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
