Marvin Wetherbee

Marvin Wetherbee, 85, of Ashtabula, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 15, 2025. Born August 25, 1940, in Ashtabula, he was the son of the late Forest and Helen (Ilkka) Wetherbee. A lifelong resident of the area, Marvin graduated from Ashtabula High School, Class of 1959. On June 13, 1964, he married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Moore, with whom he shared 54 years of devotion, laughter, and cherished memories until her passing in 2018. Marvin worked faithfully for many years with Pepsi Co. and Cotton Club before finishing his career at Creative Millworks, where he retired in 2005. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication, he took pride in providing for his family and building lasting friendships along the way. A man of faith, Marvin was a member of Edgewood Alliance Church and a former member of the Eagle's Club. He found joy in simple pleasures-bowling alongside his son Brad at ABC and St. Angelo lanes, competing in cornhole and horseshoes, and sharing laughter with friends. Above all, Marvin treasured time spent with his family, whether gathered around the table or cheering on his grandson. His warmth, humor, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. Marvin is survived by his brother, Walter (Myrtle) Wetherbee; daughter, Candy Morrison; grandsons, Ryan Wetherbee and Gideon Morrison; and niece, Wendy (Jack) Stebal. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gwendolyn; his son, Bradley Wetherbee in 2018; and his brothers, Bob Wetherbee, and Thomas in infancy. Marvin's legacy is one of love, laughter, and faith. His family and friends will carry forward the lessons he taught-kindness, perseverance, and the importance of cherishing every moment together. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 2PM at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Isaacs of Lake Erie Church in Madison officiating. Visitation will be held from 1PM until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville at the convenience of the family.
