1931 - 2025
Lynn - Mary D. "Mamie" Alexander, 94, a longtime resident of Lynn, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Advinia Care, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George and Isabella (Lees) Alexander.
Mary was born, raised and educated in Edinburgh, Scotland. She moved to the United States in 1974 where she settled in Lynn. Mary was a hard worker and proudly worked as a Central service technician for Union Hospital until her retirement. In her free time, Mary enjoyed knitting, shopping and trying new restaurants.
Along with her parents, Mary is pre-deceased by her beloved siblings; Charles, George and James Alexander, and Janette Jones. She leaves her sister-in-law Helen Alexander. Her nieces; Lynn Furey, Jan Bettencourt, Shirley Filias, Gail Stevenson, Lori O'Donnell and Lea Matayabas. Her nephews; Neil Alexander, Ian Alexander and David Alexander. Along with several great nieces and nephews especially Melissa Argueta and Katrina Bettencourt, both of whom she shared a close bond with.
Service Information: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, September 1, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129) Lynn. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129). Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
