Mary (Johnson) Allman, age 77, of Seymour, passed away at Our Hospice House in Columbus on Tuesday morning, October 24, 2023.
Mary was born on October 21, 1946, in Leesville, IN to the late George W. Johnson and Eliza Bea (Noble) Johnson. She was a 1964 graduate of Tunnelton High School. On September 23, 1967, she married the love of her life, Wayne Allman, who preceded her in death in 2019. Mary worked for 40 years at Irwin Union Bank in Seymour and Columbus as a teller supervisor and loan officer. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Columbus. Over the years, she was actively serving in various ministries including Vacation Bible School, Children's Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Orphans Grain Train and The Love Chapel. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family as well as traveling to the beach. She had a heart toward helping others. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and tending to multiple flower gardens. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and special friend to so many.
Survivors include her children, Nate Allman (Michelle) of Lexington, SC and Angela Harris (Darrin) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, DeMarco, Brody, Taylor and Brittany; Great-grandchildren, London, Arianna, Milani, Charlotte and Gunner; siblings, Marie, Betty, Edith, Frank, Willard and Richard.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, Wayne Allman; her brothers, George Johnson, Jr., Raymond Johnson and Grayden Johnson.
Funeral services for Mary will be held on Saturday, October 28, at 11:00AM at Voss and Sons Funeral Service and Crematory in Seymour. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday evening, October 27, from 3PM-7PM and again on Saturday morning from 10AM until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Leesville Cemetery.
