Mary “Nancy” Amato, age 85 of Wakefield, passed away on Wednesday October 8 at Brightview Senior Living in Wakefield.
She was born in Melrose on April 17, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Ahern) Amato.
Nancy grew up in Melrose and Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School class of 1958. She worked for Metallic Arts of New England. She resided by the Ocean at Nantasket Beach in Hull before moving back to Wakefield later in life. She was playful in nature and will be sorely missed.
She was the beloved sister of Judi Brown of Wakefield, Donna Filipone and her husband Andy of Wakefield, the late Patricia Ectman, and the late Frank Amato. She is also survived by her 4 nieces and 4 nephews.
Interment will take place on Friday October 17 at Lakeside Cemetery, North Ave., Wakefield at 2:00 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.
