Mary Ann C. (Tisler) Doucha, a resident of Howard, died Tuesday, November 12, 2024 surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born October 1, 1936 to the late Edward and Mary (Zeman) Tisler in the Town of Franklin, Menchalville, WI. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, WI, in 1954 and attended the UW-Milwaukee and the UW-Oshkosh, graduating with a BS degree in education. She taught at various schools in Green Bay and from 1972 until retirement in 2000, taught in the Howard-Suamico School District. She especially loved the years teaching science at Bayview Middle School.
Mary Ann served on the Howard-Suamico Rescue Board of Directors from 1983-1987 and was also chairman of the Brown Co. Republican poll workers. She also served on the executive board of the Brown Co. Republican Party. She was a current member of the WI and Brown Co. Retired Educators Assoc and WI Czechs.
Mary Ann was a long standing member of St. John the Baptist Church of Howard, where she was a lector and a member of the funeral choir. She also taught CCD for many years in the 1960's and 1970's. She also volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital in the surgery waiting room.
Mary Ann was very active in her childrens' lives and was one of the founders of the Howard-Suamico soccer league, penning the quote "We get our Kicks out of Soccer!" Her canine companions, all Bichons named "Tyke", were very dear to her heart. She was an avid football fan, especially the Packers and Badgers.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Dawn (Alfred) Rose and Daryl (Kellie) Doucha; 10 grandchildren: Megan, Major, Manny, Brett, Krystal, Garrett, Aubree, Cira, Denniella and Drake and 5 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sister-in-law and special friend, Dorothy Doucha, caregiver and friend, Jamie AKA Maxwell, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Dayna Bertrand; the father of her children, Wayne Doucha; a great-grandson, David; her sisters: Helen (Greg) Kreft, Caroline (Bob) Behnke and Lucille (Duane) Schneider and her precious pups, all named "Tyke."
Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Parish (2597 Glendale Ave., Howard, WI), Friday, November 22, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 NOON. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 NOON. To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.NewcomerGreenBay.com.
Mary Ann loved teaching and dedicated over 45 years to the profession. She always remembered her students with fondness and caring.
