Mary Ann Espinosa, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2026, in her hometown of Denver, Colorado, at the age of 92. Born on July 2, 1933, Mary Ann spent her life surrounded by the vibrancy of her family and the friendships she nurtured throughout her journey.

A dedicated social worker for Denver Public Schools, Mary Ann also worked as a custodian at the Career Education Center, where she retired from. In both roles, Mary Ann had a profound impact on the lives of countless students. Her commitment to her work was rooted in her own experiences; she earned her GED after having her children and pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, demonstrating her unwavering determination and passion for helping others.

Mary Ann was not just known for her professional achievements, but also for her joyful spirit. Many will remember her infectious laugh which echoed through the lives of those around her until the very end. Her friends admired her positive outlook on life, and she was widely recognized for her generous nature, always giving to those in need. Known for her love of bingo and visits to the casino, she also cherished the simple pleasure of never missing an episode of Days of Our Lives, showcasing her zest for life and connection to the things that brought her joy.

Among her proudest accomplishments was the remarkable journey of raising her four children as a single mother. The love and dedication she poured into their upbringing have left an indelible mark on their lives and the lives of their children.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving sons, Charles Espinosa (Judy), Richard Espinoza (Annette), and Dennis Espinosa. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Jaime Abeyta, Roque Abeyta, Crystal Fuss, Michelle Montoya, Philip Vigil, and Ricky Espinoza. Additionally, she held a special place in her heart for her great-grandchildren: Alyssa Montoya, Jazzlyn Montoya, Cyprus Vigil, and Antalya Vigil, as well as Roque Abeyta Jr., Jayla and Jaeda Abeyta, Koa Abeyta, Jalene and Aniesa Abeyta.

Mary Ann is further survived by her cherished sisters, Jeanette Espinosa, Dolores Padilla, and Rita Garcia, along with her aunt, Cordelia Ramirez. She also leaves behind the loving memory of her daughter, Julie Espinosa, brother, Jerry Garcia, and sisters, Virginia Benavides and Rosemary Garcia, who welcomed her in spirit.

As we remember Mary Ann Espinosa, we celebrate a life filled with laughter, love, and resilience. Her legacy will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home West Metro Chapel.
