Mrs. Mary Ann Colbert Johnson, age 78, of Traphill, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Mrs. Johnson was born on January 22, 1947, in Surry County to Manlath “Doc” and Philena Joines Colbert.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Old Roaring River Baptist Church. In her professional career, she worked for Sprint, Brendle’s, and Kid Zone Daycare. She had a true passion for reading in her spare time.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William “Willie” Joines.

Survivors include her husband, Charles “Quincy” Johnson Sr. of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Johnson Jr. and wife Barabra of Traphill; daughter and son-in-law, Jill Baker and husband Chris of Traphill; sisters, Libby Colbert and Judy Johnson and husband Bobby, grandchildren; Ethan Baker and wife Tiffany, Leigha Pruitt and husband, Justin, Lucas Baker and fiancé Hannah Ponder, and Jordyn Goulding and husband Nick, great-grandchildren; Sarah Whittington, Prudence Pruitt, Cayden Baker, and Cooper Goulding, future grandchild, baby boy Goulding, and several special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Old Roaring River Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

A funeral service will be conducted at Old Roaring River Baptist Church following the receiving, Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 12 noon with Rev. James Pardue and Rev. Lucas Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, and memorials may be made to the Old Roaring River Baptist Church Building Fund, 13932 Longbottom Rd. Traphill, NC 28685, Traphill Branch Public Library, 6938 Traphill Rd. Traphill, NC 28685, and/or Mountain Valley Hospice, P O. Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mountain Valley Hospice for their care and support during this difficult time.
