Mary Ann (Mabie) Olszewski

Mary Ann (Mabie) Olszewski, 83, of Weston, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 after a life well lived and dearly loved. She was born and lived most of her life in Framingham and spent the last eight years in Weston. She was the daughter of James and Catherine (Pickett) Mabie and the dear wife of 39 years to Bernard (Bernie) A. Olszewski, until his death in 1997. She leaves her family, daughters Jill and her husband, Stephen Palmisano; Kim and her husband Tom Scholz; Dianne Olszewski and her beloved granddaughter Chelsea (Palmisano) and her husband Kyle Brennan. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews from the Mabie and Olszewski families. Mom was the sunshine in our lives and the heart of our family. Always the optimist, she endured many major health issues over the years and referred to them as "A speed bump down the highway of life." She loved to cook and enjoyed hosting beautifully decorated holiday gatherings, enjoying lots of laughs with family and friends, creating beautiful gardens; reading, playing cards, traveling and was always a fan of the Red Sox. Mary Ann had an extraordinary memory and was one of the most organized people you were likely to meet. She brightened everyone's day and was a pleasure to be around. "Enjoy this beautiful day!" was her motto. She will be greatly missed by all, including her many friends at Merriam Village. Mary Ann was a graduate of Framingham High School. She worked for many years as a secretary at Juniper Hill Elementary School and later for the school department in various secretarial roles where she formed many lifelong friendships. Mary Ann was a woman of deep faith and a long-time parishioner at St. George's Church in Framingham and then St. Julia Church in Weston; with a particular devotion to the Blessed Mother as a member of the Sodality of Mary. She was a dedicated member of the Framingham Heart Study since 1972 and never missed an appointment, as she was always willing to contribute to the greater good. Her warmth and generosity of spirit were evident. She is preceded in death by her sister Betty and her husband Chandler Sinnott; her brother Richard Mabie, her sister-in-law Joyce Mabie; her brother Danny Mabie; nephew Richard Mabie and niece Cathy Mabie. A celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held with a gathering for visitation on Saturday, March 5 at 10:00 am, at St. Julia Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am. Please wear a mask inside the church. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Mary Ann's name to a charity of your choice.
