St. Martinville, Louisiana - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 10, 2023, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Mary Ann Thomas, 77, who passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.
A visitation will take place at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am on Friday.
Fr. Abelardo Gabriel S.V.D., will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Brandy Berard and Kamrin Grege.
Interment will follow at House of Love Cemetery.
Mary Ann Thomas, a beloved member of the St. Martinville community, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023, at the age of 77. Born on September 10, 1946, she was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew her.
Mary Ann's warm and loving nature touched the lives of those around her. As a dedicated homemaker, she poured her heart into caring for her family. Her culinary skills were renowned, and she took great pleasure in preparing delicious meals that brought joy to her loved ones' faces. Mary Ann's home was a place of comfort and hospitality, where laughter and love filled the rooms.
Beyond her role as a homemaker, Mary Ann found solace in her faith. As a devoted member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, she felt a deep connection to her community and always offered prayers for those in need. Her devoutness emanated from her soul, shining as a guiding light to those around her.
Mary Ann loved the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, whether it be shopping for little trinkets, watching her favorite shows on TV, or babysitting her precious grandchildren. Her laughter filled the air during family gatherings, and her kind heart made everyone feel welcomed and loved.
In her free time, Mary Ann found joy in baking cakes and pies. She found rhythmic bliss on the dance floor, swaying to the vibrant beats of zydeco music. These activities truly reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life.
She is survived by her sons, Ray Thomas, and John Thomas; brothers, Dr. Anthony J. "Tony" (Claire) Lawrence, John Lawrence, and Euris Lawrence; sisters, Christine (Joseph) Berard, and Mary Lee Lawrence; grandchildren, Semaj Dauphine, Rayvionta Thomas, and Kamonie Landry.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Edna Lawrence; and her brother, Lenzey Lawrence.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Anthony, Semaj Dauphine, Wesley Green, Jr., Euris Lawrence, Wilbert Anthony, and Leroy Anthony.
