Mary Lou Berg passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Olathe, KS. She enjoyed the last several months of her life immersed in her new community at The Crestone Senior Living Center. Mary Lou was born February 4, 1938, in Superior, WI to Fred and Louise Gross. She and her family moved to Brule, Wisconsin where she finished her elementary school years and graduated from Northwestern High School. Mary Lou went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, Superior where she earned her teaching degree. Here she met the love of her life and soon to be husband, Brian. Newlyweds and new teachers, Brian and Mary Lou settled in Waukegan, IL. Some of Mary Lou's most treasured memories were from these years where life-long friendships were built, and their two daughters were born. In 1969, the family moved to Cloquet, MN where Mary Lou cherished her role as a stay-at-home mom. When the girls were older, Mary Lou returned to her teaching career spending her days with the kindergarteners at Queen of Peace Catholic School. In 1993, after retiring, she and Brian moved to Olathe, KS. Over her lifetime, Mary Lou had many interests including playing bridge, knitting, and watching sports, but above all she enjoyed the time spent with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her whole world and her greatest joy. She will be missed greatly by each and every one of them and by the multitude of others whose lives she touched.
