Mary Susan Blake

Mary Susan Blake, age 74, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, in Browns Mills, New Jersey.

Mary was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, and in 1978 she made Browns Mills her home, where she remained for the rest of her life. In her professional life, Mary worked in early childhood education for the Pemberton Township school district, both in the classroom and in school office roles, always supporting children and families with patience and care.

Outside of work, Mary found joy in painting, crafting, and gardening, creative pursuits that reflected her gentle spirit. Above all else, Mary's greatest passion was being a mother. It was the role she cherished most, and she loved her children deeply and wholeheartedly.

Mary was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Parish, where she was a Eucharistic minister and CCD teacher, forming lasting friendships and giving generously of her time.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Helen Held; her brothers, John and Charles Held; and her beloved husband, William Blake.

Mary is survived by her sister, Anna Basile; her children, Christopher Blake, Michelle Blake, and Catherine Smith; her grandchildren, Zachery, Conner, Julia, Abigail, Jim, and David; and her five great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy.

Mary will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her faith, and her quiet creativity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Moore Funeral Home, 371 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015. Crematio will be private.
