She was born December 6, 1942, in Detroit, the son of the late Michael and Stella (Jaskiewlcz) Covitz.
Her marriage to Eugene Brohl was August 22, 1969 in Detroit. They spent 51 years together before his passing in November 25, 2020.
Mary worked for the City of Detroit as a secretary. She later went to work for Richmond Community Schools in food service where she was the lead baker. While she worked at Richmond Schools, she was a union steward. Mary was a parishioner of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. She enjoyed baking at home and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Dawn of New Haven and her brother, Kenneth Mytych of Dearborn.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Yeager.
Rite of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond, with 9:30 a.m. visiting. Fr. Kishore Beezam, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Richmond.
Memorials are suggested to Right of Life OR the Michigan Humane Society.

I will always cherish our prayer time together. She loved her family, and always asked if we could pray for them. She had a beautiful heart and soul. It was an honor, and pure Joy, helping her in her time of need.
