The angels were singing, and the bells were ringing for our mother and Grandmother with the Lord standing there to welcome her home.
Mary Brown, age 96, went to be with her Lord on March 23, 2024. She was born on March 26, 1927, in Blevins, Arkansas to Zack and Opal Brooks.
Mary was a hard worker all her life and she always had a great desire to help others in any way that she could. She loved to cook, had a passion for sewing, and loved to make blankets for each one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a servant in her church with her husband, Tom. They served in the bus ministry at Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene, formally known as North Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene for many years. She also taught children's Sunday School and sang in the church choir. Mary helped her husband run his popular milk route throughout the streets of North Little Rock for over 40 years. She held several jobs for the city of North Little Rock. She truly loved her city. She also loved to garden and had the most beautiful flowers and little vegetable garden. Her tomatoes may have been small, but she was always so proud of them! Mary cherished her family so much and loved to cook homemade meals every Sunday and have them over for gatherings as often as possible. She loved to sing hymns of the church with her family by her side until most recent days.
Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Tom; her daughter Barbara Calderera, and grandson Jody Caldarera. She is also preceded in death by her beloved brother, William Brooks. She is survived by her loving daughter Margaret Conway (Charles) of Cabot. Grandson Brent Conway (Stephanie) of Edmond, Oklahoma. Granddaughter Melanie Many (Josh) of Cabot, Arkansas. Granddaughter Christy Burrows (Bob) of Butlerville, Arkansas. Great-Grandchildren Mason, Brady, Emmry Conway of Edmond, Oklahoma. Jordyn and Caleb Many of Cabot, Arkansas. Also, a host of nieces and nephews.
