Mary Burkhart Obituary
BOWLING GREEN - Mary Louise Burkhart, 98, of Bowling Green, Ohio and formerly of Tontogany, Ohio passed away April 13, 2025.
She was born September 3, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Harry and Ruth (Freshee) Mills.
She married Gene Wise, and he preceded her in death. She later married Donald Burkhart, and he preceded her in death as well.
Mary Lou work in food service at BGSU for 20 years. She was a member of Calvary Church in Tontogany, Ohio, Beta Sigma Phi, The Garden Club and Black Swamp Quilters. She enjoyed spending time quilting, sewing, playing piano and singing.
She is survived by her children James Wise, Cathy Wise Dorffer and Larry Wise, brother Robert Wade and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband Gene, 2nd husband Donald and sisters Helen Roe, Phyllis Wade, Genevieve Wade and Suzanne Cramner.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday April 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington St. Tontogany, Ohio 43565. Interment will follow at Tontogany Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
