In Loving Memory of Mary Rose Burkhart
December 6, 1964 – August 30, 2025
Mary Rose Burkhart, age 60, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed peacefully into eternal rest on August 30, 2025. Born on December 6, 1964, Mary lived a life devoted to family, faith, and storytelling. She graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1988 with a degree in Communications and Public Relations. Mary was a talented writer who took great care in preserving her family's history- recording oral stories shared by our grandparents and researching the roots that shaped their lives.
Mary was the beloved daughter of Paul Burkhart and Audrey Everheart, and stepdaughter to Frank Everheart. She was a cherished sister to Steve (Shirley) Burkhart, Margaret Cassell (Mike Zambrana), Paula Burkhart (George Purdy), Karen (Billy) Burkhart, Charles (Kris) Burkhart, and Angie Cameron. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rachael Burkhart and Naomi Woods. Mary was deeply loved by her many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
On the day of her passing, Mary smiled as she recalled fond childhood memories and felt the deep love of her family surrounding her. On her wall were the words from Song of Solomon 2:16:
"My Beloved is mine, and I am His "
Mary spoke of the presence of Jesus in her room, and at the appointed time, she took the Lord's hand and was received into Heaven, where she now knows eternal peace and joy.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Jonas Ridge Assisted Living and Medi Home Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Charles Burkhart and Karen Burkhart officiating with music by Shirley Burkhart. Interment service will be held after the funeral service at Burkhart Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers: Steve Burkhart, Glenn Burkhart, Adam Niday, George Purdy, Bill Burkhart, Jared Burkhart. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville.
