Mary Ann Drury Campbell

Mary Ann Drury Campbell died on September 23, 2025, in Chambersburg, PA. She was the beloved wife of Walter Earl Campbell and loving mother of Mary Elizabeth Campbell Simons (Mark) of Chambersburg, PA, and Reid A. Campbell (Kathleen) of Raleigh, NC. Mary Ann was also the devoted grandmother of Dylan F. Campbell (Brittany) and Shannon A. Campbell (Sterling Hayes). She is survived by her children and their spouses, her grandchildren, brother John H. Drury (Romaine), nieces and various friends and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and aunt.
Mary Ann was born on January 14, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio, to Harold and Ruth (Pugsley) Drury and grew up in London, Ohio. She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in May 1954, marrying Walter in June 1955. Mary Ann followed Walter to duty stations in Kentucky, Georgia, Germany, California, Arizona, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia, and Hawaii before finally settling down in Arlington, VA in 1975. Early in their marriage Mary Ann taught first and second grades until the children came. She maintained her love of teaching by volunteering in Mary and Reid's schools and as a Sunday School teacher, often playing the piano. Mary Ann attended Christ United Methodist Church and The Falls Church, Anglican Church.
Throughout her life, Mary Ann enjoyed participating in Bible Studies and Women's Study Groups, playing bridge games with many groups, sewing doll clothes for the Salvation Army, and knitting scarves and hats for needy children wherever Mary taught. Mary Ann was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Daughters of Founders and Patriots, Daughters of the American Colonists, New England Women, Daughters of 1812, and the Jamestown Society holding various leadership positions in all groups.
Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation for the kind and thoughtful care Mary Ann received from the entire staff at Providence Place of Chambersburg, PA. We would also like to thank the caregivers at Graceful Care in Northern Virginia.

Arrangements made by Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will be in London, OH, at a later date.
