Mary Ann Cardiello

Mary Ann Cardiello passed away on August 16th, 2023, after a battle with cancer. Mimi to her family and friends, she was the beloved wife of Peter Cardiello and the loving mother of Patrick and Michael. Her son, Christopher, and her parents, Joseph and Alice Birmingham, predeceased her. Mary Ann was the dear younger sister to Cathy (Anthony) Siclare and Alice (Jerry) DeWaters.
She was "Aunt Mim" to Joseph, Leslie, Alyson and Andrea, as well as her greatnephews Drew, Alex and Sammy. Mim especially loved spending holidays and trips to the beach with her greatnephews and sharing in their mutual love of all things Halloween.
Mimi graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers in 1974, and Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing in 1978. She worked as a registered nurse for nearly 40 years, serving as a surgical nurse at NYU, a trauma nurse and supervisor at Westchester Medical Center and various nursing homes.
She was a dedicated member of the Scarsdale Woman's Club, an avid bowler in the Transfiguration Women's League, and loving owner of her cats, Freddy and Tessie.
Mim loved her trips to Florida and summer family vacations at LBI. She loved to sit overlooking the ocean, enjoying the serenity of the beach. Her favorite times were in the early morning and early evening, when "the birds take back the beach".
