Mary G. Carney (nee Gray) 94, of Hackensack formerly of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Born in New York City to the late Beatrice and Luke Gray. Mary was a graduate of Hunter College where she received her Bachelors Degree in Economics at night while working full time. Before retiring, she was a court clerk for Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack. Previously, Mary was a secretary at the Hasbrouck Heights High School. She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi R.C. Church in Hasbrouck Heights and a member of the Rosary Society, a past president of the Woman's Club in Hasbrouck Heights and a volunteer at Hackensack University Medical Center. Beloved wife of the late Alfred P. Carney. Devoted mother of Patricia Carney, Jeanne Carney, Thomas Carney and his wife Susan and Marie Cook and her husband Michael. Dear sister of Ann Berg, John Gray and his wife Linda and the late Alice Harrington. Loving grandmother of Billy Anderson and his wife Amy, Michelle Maloney and her husband Jason, Brennan Cook, Aidan Cook, Patrick Carney and James Carney. Cherished great grandmother of Luke, Caleb, Kelsey and Lily. Mary is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, October 11th at 8:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Corpus Christi R.C. Church 260 Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights at 9:30 AM. Interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation Friday, October 10th from 4 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to The Heritage Fund c/o Corpus Christi Parish Office 218 Washington Place in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604 in memory of Mary G. Carney would be appreciated.

Mary Carney, a person who welcomed everyone with a bright smile, gracious and inspired laughter, delicious meals and the shared generous love to her extended family and friends. Always positive, always kind and insightful, always helpful and in all ways will be missed.
