Mary Elizabeth "Mary Beth" Reiter Carr, 77, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on January 30, 2026, at home after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia.

Friends and family may visit from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Deacon Dan Kurt officiating.

Mary worked for 29 years as a travel agent for AAA in Cedar Rapids. She not only traveled the world but also enjoyed and embraced the many different cultures she encountered.

After meeting her future husband, Paul Carr, Mary Beth relocated to Houston, where they were married on January 27, 1996. Together, they were active leaders in the Houston Heights community. In 2004, Mary Beth was honored with the Houston Heights Association Marcella Perry Award for outstanding community service.
