Mary Carroll

Mary Carroll (nee McDermott), of West Caldwell, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Sunday, Dec. 10,2023, from 2 to 5 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell, on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Mrs. Carroll lived in West Caldwell for 51 years.
She was employed by the Caldwell Progress Newspaper for more than 25 years before retiring as circulation manager in 2010.
Mrs. Carroll was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church, where she was the leader of the Sunshine Group and member of the Senior Citizens Group.
The beloved wife of 51 years to the late James Carroll, she was the devoted mother of Lynn Barone, Doreen Reilly and her husband, Dennis, James Carroll 3rd and his wife, Cathy, John Carroll and his wife, Elizabeth, and Michael Carroll and his wife, Donnalee; dear sister of John McDermott and his wife, Philomena, and Doreen Al-Shaikah and her husband Ahmed, and cherished grandmother of Andrew, Olivia and her husband John, Patrick, Liam, Kelly, Sean, Caitlin, Aidan, Ryan, Grace, Shayla, and Danny, and a great grandchild on the way (due in the spring).
