Mary Ann Caruso, 86, of Stuart, Florida, and formerly of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at Treasure Coast Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 25, 1938, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Michael Joseph Ladda and Mary Ann (Skocik) Ladda. She was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School's first graduating class in 1956.
After graduation, Mary Ann worked at Hope Gas, where she met the love of her life, Vincent Thomas Caruso. The two were married on June 25, 1960, at Holy Rosary Church in Clarksburg and shared 34 years of marriage before Vincent's passing in 1994.
Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life centered around faith, family, and friendship. She was active in Immaculate Conception Church in Clarksburg, where she formed many lifelong friendships and faithfully served her parish community. Known for her warmth, kindness, and easy laugh, she cherished time spent with family and friends, always welcoming others with open arms and a generous spirit.
In 2019, Mary Ann moved to Stuart, Florida, to be closer to family. Her presence brought joy and comfort to all who knew her.
She is survived by her four children: Tom Caruso and his wife Kerry of Stuart, Florida, and their children Christina, Vincent John, and Caroline; Mike Caruso of Clarksburg, West Virginia; Dr. Vincent James Caruso and his wife Lisa of Wheeling, West Virginia, and their children Vincent Sebastian and Anna; and Dr. Theresa Caruso Mason and her husband Marty Mason of Roswell, Georgia, and their children Mia and Vincent Joseph.
Mary Ann is also survived by her three sisters: Virginia Insani of Bridgeport, West Virginia; Veronica Clevenger of Bridgeport, West Virginia; and Margaret Ann Zumpetta of Follansbee, West Virginia.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City, Florida. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart, Florida.
Mary Ann will be lovingly remembered for her faith, her strength, and the boundless love she shared with her family and friends.
