Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Service - AppomattoxMary K. Cassidy, 64, of Spout Spring, Virginia, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born on December 11, 1961, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, she is predeceased by her parents, Harry Wayne Hill and Lois Alma Bell, and her former husband, John D. Cassidy. She is survived by their five children, Roxann Wheeler, John Cassidy, Jennifer Cassidy, Rose Cassidy, and Shawn Cassidy; nine grandchildren, Sofia, Shalyn, Sharee, Shavon, Shaymere, Kyree, Amelia, Ava, and Arya; two bonus grandchildren, Aaron and Tuhleal; and three siblings, Donald Hill, Bonnie McKinley, and Edward Hill.
Mary had a degree in accounting from Duff’s Business Institute and dedicated many years to Sheetz and then Walmart as a Store Planning Field Project Manager, where she was a vital and valued presence, a beloved boss, a supportive leader, and a dedicated, hard-working colleague who took immense pride in her work.
Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, whose greatest pride was in her children and grandchildren. She made it a priority to be present for life’s important milestones and cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories. She found joy in hosting holiday gatherings and creating a home filled with the love and togetherness of family and friends.
Mary was an avid Steelers fan, and she loved going to the beach. She was thoughtful, supportive, caring, and someone you could always count on. She lived by her favorite bible verse, 1 Corinthians 13:4, “Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy or boast; it is not proud.” She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her and be loved by her. She is in God’s arms but will always be in our hearts.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 28th at 2:00PM at Love Ministries, 509 7th Street, Glassport, Pennsylvania, and Thursday, April 2nd at 2:00PM at Robinson Funeral Home in Appomattox, Virginia, officiated by Pastor Dan Davis.
