Obituary of Mary Ann Castronovo

Mary Ann Castronovo, 86, of Warren, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025. She was born and raised in Plainfield, NJ. After graduating Plainfield High School she attended Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She married Tom Castronovo in 1961 and they settled in Warren, NJ where they raised their family and remained.
Mary Ann found deep joy in caring for her family and others. She was known to all for her generosity, thoughtfulness, and warm caring spirit. She cherished her days with the family and her grandchildren particularly while spending time with everyone down the shore in Lavallette.
She was always a very active member of the Warren community from the early days of being a Den mother, PTA volunteer, Board Member, and volunteer of the Warren Township Library and working at Edgewood Pharmacy, their long standing family business.
Mary Ann could always be found curled up with a good book, doing a crossword puzzle, hunting for sea glass, or playing Bridge. She loved to travel and learn new things but her favorite thing to do was to be surrounded by her family.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, S. Thomas Castronovo, in 2019. She is survived by her three children: Thomas V. Castronovo, Steven Castronovo (wife Donna) and Lanie Colao (husband Dan) and her five grandchildren: Steffi, Annie, CJ, Sarah, and Kevin.
Private services and burial will take place at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery in Watchung, New Jersey.
