Peter John Castronovo, a beloved husband, father and grandpa “nanu”, passed away on March 7, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on September 8, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI to Jack and Jennie Castronovo.
Peter was a true aficionado of music and movies, but his most cherished hobby was his love for model railroads. He cherished the experiences of cinema and storytelling and had a particular fondness for capturing moments behind the camera, spending countless hours videotaping family gatherings and events. His passion extended beyond electronics to his deep love for animals, reflecting his compassionate and nurturing nature.
Peter was proud of his Sicilian heritage, embodying the warmth, richness, and strong familial values that come with such a legacy.
He is survived by his wife Claire; sons James Losee, Matthew (Angie) Losee, Michael (Theresa) Castronovo and Chris Castronovo; Nanu to Katelyn, Hailey, Matthew, Tyler and Isabella Losee and Elliot and Lucy Castronovo; brother Angelo Castronovo; nephews Dean and Reid Castronovo; nieces Tracie Castronovo and Rhonda Gau; sister-in-law Jeanne Castronovo; along with many other family and friends.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ted and John Castronovo; and sister-in-law Geri Lori Castronovo.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Jefferson Memory Care for their compassionate care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to HAWS in Peter’s memory are welcome.
To celebrate Peter's life and the joy he brought to others, a visitation will take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on Sunday, March 16, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a service with Pastor Wes Werner presiding.
