Mary Lynn Claiborne, 87, passed away peacefully due to illness on Monday, June 24th, in McRae, Arkansas. She was born on March 9, 1937 in McRae, Arkansas, to Pauline and Buster Claiborne.
She was a proud well-respected resident of McRae. Once she graduated from McRae High School she moved to Oklahoma where she had an amazing corporate life and was named Who’s Who in America. Mary Lynn returned back to McRae to take care of her Mom and was elected the McRae Clerk Treasurer for many years. Mary Lynn loved to watch sports, garden and look out her window to see what was going on (neighborhood watch). Mary Lynn was a wonderful friend, sister in Christ, with a heart full of love and compassion.
Mary Lynn was survived by David Claiborne of Beebe (nephew); Carol Ann Johnston of McRae (cousin); Jon (‘adopted’ son) and Jackye Underwood (wife of Jon); Billie Curtis and Bob Sullivan and Ann Cook (Best Friends)
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Arkansas. To sign the online guest book, go to www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook.
