Mary Anna Clayton

Mary Anna Angevine Clayton was born October 7, 1940 in Petoskey, MI, the daughter of the late John Kenneth and Thelma Worden Angevine.
She was united in marriage to Billy Harris Clayton on June 30, 1973. Mr. Clayton preceded her in death on December 31, 2022, following 49 years of marriage.
Mary was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with them and tending her flower garden, but her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Mary was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the McNairy community as long as she was able to attend.
Mary departed this life on January 13, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 3 Months, 6 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Barnes; three sons: Wayne Sluder and wife Becky, Bert Sluder and wife Ruthann, and Carl Sluder; a sister, Barbara Hykal and husband John; a brother, Jim Angevine and wife Jackie; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Cates, and two brothers, Bob Angevine and Walter Angevine.
