Obituary of Mary Alice Colbert
Mary Alice Colbert was born June 9, 1942, in Atlanta Georgia.
She was the third of nine children to the late George (Mary). Wright, Sr. She was married to the late Charlie Hugh Colbert and to this union four children were born. GOD called her home on July 2, 2025.
She was educated in the Atlanta Public School system. She was employed with Piedmont Hospital and Georgia World Congress Center for several years. Upon her retirement she spent time entertaining family and friends.
She enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings for years. She loved watching Sci-Fi movies. Some of her favorite pastimes was enjoying her grandkids and playing Solitaire on the computer. Her favorite color was yellow.
Mary was a member of Iconium Baptist Church. She was always willing to help others no matter what.
She was preceded in death by husband Charlie Hugh Colbert, three brother George Jr, Oscar and Calvin Wright; four sisters Pauline Culbreath, Dorothy Jean Bailey, Janet Pearson and Trenis Wright, Grandson Terrance Lamar Colbert.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Deborah Colbert, Phyllis (Jeffery) Vincent, Charlotte Colbert, Son, Kelvin (Gloria) Colbert, sister Annie Johnson Manderson; Host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
