Mary Lou Culpepper, 68, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away peacefully with her loving husband Scott Culpepper at her side; July 3, 2025 after bravely battling lupus for 45 years. She was born September 29, 1956 in Florence, Oregon to Wayne Whiley and WillaV Whiley.
Mary was married to her beloved husband, Scott Culpepper, for 50 years and together they shared a life of love, faith, and service. A devoted member of Cedar Mountain Missionary Baptist Church for over 55 years, Mary also served faithfully as the pastor's wife for more than three decades, offering steadfast support and spiritual guidance to the congregation. In addition to her church work, she dedicated 34 years to the Garland County government, retiring in June 2017. Her life reflected a deep commitment to her faith, her family, and her community.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and WillaV Whiley; grandparents George and Gay Hooper; and youngest brother David Whiley of Hot Springs; sister-in-law Janie Culpepper; Brother-in-laws Kent Culpepper; Eddie Culpepper; father and mother-in-law Conley and Delphia Culpepper.
Survivors include her husband Scott Culpepper; siblings Philip (Carol) Whiley of Hot Springs; Phyllis (Jr.) Crain of Hollis; Betty Ault of Hot Springs; Keith (Kat) Whiley of Mt. Ida; Kenny (Robin) Whiley of Hot Springs; Jack Culpepper of Lake Hamilton; Chuck Culpepper (Terry) of Hot Springs; Mark (Angela) Culpepper of Owensville; Chip (Karen) of Little Rock and numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
A celebration of Mary's life will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 10th at Goat Bluff Cemetery in Hollis with Bro. Bill Chesshir officiating.

Scott, I am so sorry to hear of Mary´s passing but know she is free of pain and rejoicing in heaven. You are in my prayers and thoughts now and in these coming days. God truly blessed you with a lifetime love who was just one of the nicest people I´ve ever met. I am so sorry I won´t make it to the funeral as I´ve already committed to work. Hugs and prayers to you and all those who loved her.
