Mary T. Dalpe 83 of Marlborough passed away peacefully on Monday March 31, 2025 in Meadow Green Nursing & Rehabilitation in Waltham, MA.
Mary was born in Framingham, the daughter of the late William J. and Josephine E. (Canning) Colleary. She was an accomplished musician and went to college on a violin scholarship. She married the love of her life in April of 1961 and had two daughters. She returned to school and became a nurse (LPN, RN, BSN) and worked at Marlborough Hospital for many years and later became the Director of Human Services for the City of Marlborough, where she advocated for the people of Marlborough and received many awards, including Humanitarian of the Year. She was actively involved in the community and hosted a local community television program, in which she discussed local human service issues with the public and helped move forward important initiatives like the Americans with Disabilities Act, and others. She helped so many people in her career and in her private life.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Donald J. Dalpe, whom she took care of during a long illness, in January 2006.
Mary is survived by her 2 daughters, Annette M. Bowlby of N. Billerica, Mary T. Guaraldi of NH, her granddaughter, Jessica Lacaillade and her husband Robert of NH, 3 great grandchildren, Matthew, Dakota, Olivia, a brother James Colleary and his wife Maureen, a sister, Josephine Shea and her husband John all of Southborough as well as 3 nieces.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers, William and John Colleary and a son-in-law, Tim Bowlby.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April3, 2025 from 4-6 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11 am in Rural Cemetery, Southborough, MA
