Mary Sue Davidson, age 70, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, in Fargo, ND. Born on May 23, 1954, in Moorhead, MN, she was the beloved daughter of P.C. and Alair (Lindgren) Davidson and spent most of her life in Moorhead, where she was a cherished member of the community.
Mary was known for her spiritedness, tenacity, compassion, and warm heart. She dedicated herself to her work at Productive Alternatives in Moorhead, MN, where she was employed until her passing. Mary had a deep appreciation for all the people who cared for her with such concern and compassion through the years, enhancing her quality of life and bringing sunshine to her days.
Mary had a deep love for family and friends, and she particularly enjoyed gathering with them to share meals and laughter. One of her passions was crocheting, and she created beautiful handmade blankets for nearly everyone she knew, each stitch a reflection of her kindness and love. A particularly special moment in her life was when she made a blanket for the legendary performing artist Kenny Rogers, and she was pleased to present it to him in a touching encounter a few years ago.
Mary also had an enduring affection for music, and her enthusiasm for it was a constant in her life. She knew the lyrics to an abundance of songs and was often heard singing, whether at home or with friends and family. Her love for music brought joy to those around her, and her songs will echo in the memories of all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her sister Karen (Davidson) Thoring and her husband Marlin Thoring, brother Paul Davidson, sister Ann Davidson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, P.C. Davidson, her mother, Alair (Lindgren) Davidson, and sister-in-law, Lisa Davidson.
A celebration prayer service for Mary will be held at Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service in Moorhead, MN on Saturday, February 8th at 1 PM. Burial will take place in the spring at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Debs, MN, at a date to be determined.
Mary’s spirit, generosity, and love for those around her will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, warmth, and music will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched.
