Mary Kay was born on September 2, 1947, in Horton, KS, the daughter of Charles and Marjorie (Page) Hayden. She was a beautician in her earlier years, starting her career at Modern Beauty Salon in Atchison. Mary Kay retired from USD 409 after working several years as a custodian in the elementary school. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed reading, gardening flowers, puzzles, watching KU athletics and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mary Kay especially loved her family.
Survivors include her mother Marjorie Hayden of Atchison, KS, two daughters, Jennifer Dean, Atchison, KS, Kristin Dean, Fort Worth, TX, a son Michael Dean, Atchison, KS, two sisters, Patti (Nick) Beien, Cummings, KS, Debbie Nauman, Oklahoma City, OK, and a grandson, Conner Dean, TX. She was preceded by her father.
