Mary Jane DeJoie

ALBANY - Mary Jane DeJoie, 92, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022.
Mary Jane was born in Coeymans to her beloved parents, Pasquale and Angeline Zampella DeJoie, and in 1947 she moved with her family to Albany. Mary Jane was a graduate of Albany High School and worked for the N.Y.S. Department of Transportation for nearly four decades until her retirement. She made many dear and life-long friends at her workplace.
She was a member of the Columbiettes Council 173 and a communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi. Mary Jane loved traveling, going to the theatre, shopping and antiquing.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her four beloved sisters, Josephine Albano, Margaret DeJoie, Edith Field and Helena DeJoie. They were her pride and joy and she always said that God made us sisters, love made us friends. She was also predeceased by her nephew, Patrick Albano. Mary Jane is survived by her niece, Mary Albano; grandnieces and nephews, David (Annette Payne) Albano, Daniel (Kristy) Albano, Beth (Alex) Perry, and Catherine Okby; and several great-grandnieces and nephews.
Mary Jane's family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital for their kindness and loving attention to her care.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 30, at 9:30 a.m. at the Parish of Mater Christi. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with her family at the church prior to the Mass after 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
