Mary Duignan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fielden Funeral Home Inc on Mar. 3, 2025.
Mary Elizabeth Duignan, age 86, passed away on March 1, 2025. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she previously served as the pianist. She retired from Phillips Consumer Electronics Company after 35 years of service.
Mary enjoyed playing piano and spending time with the people she loved. Her life perfectly exemplified being the hands and feet of Christ, evidenced by the way she cared for others. Mary's greatest joy was being active in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had boundless energy and was the most doting, fun-loving, and dedicated "Mimi" imaginable. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond all reason.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Duignan; parents Trula Bailey and Charles Bailey; sister, Martha Whillock; and grandchildren, Bennett and Harrison Ewell.
Mary is survived by son, Jeffrey (Angie) Duignan; daughter, Sonya (Mike) Ewell; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Wes) Bailey, Bailey (David) Lowman, Gennah (Jason) Kennedy, William (Grace) Ewell, and Alex Ewell; great-grandchildren, Cooper Bailey, Hudson Kennedy, and Lyndon Kennedy.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the remarkable caregivers in the Memory Care Unit of Trinity Hills Knoxville as well as Smoky Mountain Hospice. Their love and kindness will never be forgotten.
The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 6th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc. East TN Office, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 (www.act.alz.org). Fielden Funeral Home is honored to serve the Duignan family.
