Mary Edwards Obituary
Born on September 4, 1944, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, she was the daughter of Evelyn and Levi Walton (L. W.) Bennett. Mary graduated from North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia, in 1962, where she showcased her talent as a member of the girls' basketball team and was later inducted into North Gwinnett's Hall of Fame in 2017. Following the start of her family, she embarked on a career in accounting, working for various companies while watching her family grow.
In her later years, Mary enjoyed visiting casinos for a chance at the slot machines and spent her weekends exploring nearby yard sales and estate sales in search of treasures for herself and to share with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Bill Edwards, and is survived by her sisters, Freida (Tommy) Henry and Jannifer (Danny) Ramey; her daughter, Kami (Danny) Crawford; and her son, Felton K. Parker. Her grandchildren include Reghan Parker Fraley, Kraig (Katie) Crawford, Kody (Kim) Crawford, and Bambii Crawford, along with several nephews and great-grandchildren whom she cherished dearly.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Chad Mantooth will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
