Mary Susan Faulkner, age 87 of Barbourville, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, October 3, 2025 in the Hazard Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Tinsley and Fannie (Greene) Tinsley, born to them on April 22, 1938 in Pineville, Kentucky.
Susan was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. In 1958, she united in marriage with James Faulkner and to this union three children were born.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Faulkner, a brother, George William Tinsley, a sister, Beulah Reed, brothers and sisters in law, Ray Reed, Mary George Ross, Herman Faulkner, John and Freda Faulkner, Ernest and Maxine Faulkner, Joseph Faulkner and Jimmie and Jim Lane.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her children, William Faulkner and wife Sherrie, David Faulkner and wife Deloria and Lana Faulkner, grandchildren, Amanda Faulkner, Colby and Hannah Faulkner, and Miranda Faulkner, a great-granddaughter due in December, sister-in-law, Loraine Faulkner, brother-in-law, Mike Ross, and her beloved Cat, Sabrina. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Susan will be conducted in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Brooks, Rev. Paul W. Goodin and Rev. Dustin Reed officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Keith Reed, Austin Reed, Johnny Faulkner, Jim Manning, Scott Lane, Colby Faulkner. Honorary pallbearers will be, Philip Depp, Michael Cooper, Larry Brock, Robert Streetman and Mike Johnson. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
The family would like to send their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Barbourville ARH, Knox County Home Health, Rodney and Melinda Smith and Knox County EMS, for all the kindness and care that was shown to them.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
