April 8th, 2025 at the age of 84Mary Ellen Flint, nee McConnell, was born on February 3, 1941, in Chicago, IL, and departed this life on April 8, 2025. A longtime resident of Cumming, Georgia, Mary Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was a faithful member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church, where she found comfort and guidance in her faith. As the Bible expresses in Psalm 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever," Mary Ellen's love for her faith was evident in the kindness and compassion she extended to others.
Mary Ellen was a retired professional with an associate's degree from Georgetown Visitation in Washington, DC. She was an avid reader and gardener, who also enjoyed playing bridge and traveling. Prior to calling Cumming her home, she resided in Savannah, Georgia, where she left a lasting impression on the hearts of those she met. Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Orvin Flint; her daughter, Jean Marie (Aaron) Williams; and her adored grandchildren, Mary Meghan Trainor, Shannon Burke Williams, John Larson Trainor, and Caroline Michelle Williams. She is predeceased by her parents, R. John and Dorothy McConnell; her son, Kevin James Trainor; and her sister, Jean Catherine McConnell.
Her life was one of selfless love, enduring faith, and immeasurable strength. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. We invite you to share your memories of Mary Ellen and upload photos to her memorial page to celebrate her life and keep her spirit alive.
