Mary Ruth Ford, 93 of Holden, Missouri passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Mary was born February 4, 1932 in Drexel, Missouri the daughter of Lee Layland and Mary Virginia (Voyles) Layland. She graduated from high school in Drexel, Class of 1950. She was employed with Western Electric in Lees Summit, where she met her future husband, Jack S. Ford. The couple was united in marriage on October 4, 1963 in Miami, Oklahoma. They resided in Kansas City for a brief time before moving to the Holden area. Mary retired from Western Electric in 1985. She was an avid quilter and she was a member of The Pioneers Club at Western Electric.

Survivors include her son: Jason Ford of Holden, MO; two stepdaughters: Georgia Kelly (Ed) of Pahrump, NV and Boisdee Peel (Kirk) also of Pahrump, NV; two sisters: Martha Domann (Jerry) of Springfield, MO and Basil Pannell of Ankeny, IA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nepews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; two brothers: Joe Layland and Raymond Dean Layland; and two sisters: Maxine Ritter and Clara "Renie" Hancock.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden. Interment will follow at the Holden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, one hour prior to service, Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Old Drum Animal Shelter in Warrensburg, in care of Williams.
