Mary "Ruth" Free, age 72, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on November 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Ruth was a devoted wife, sister, mother, and friend whose life was defined by her care and compassion for others. She opened her heart and home to countless children over the years, providing comfort, and a safe place for all who needed it.
Ruth was proceeded in death by both of her parents: Mary Lou and Gene Tyler of Jerusalem, Arkansas her sister and brother in-law Charloette and Michael Eugene Sceifres, of Jerusalem, Arkansas, two nephews; Michael Sceifres and Bobby Henderson and two of her children, Chad and Kimberly Huneycutt.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 35 years, Jake Dennis Free, her kids; Brad Huneycutt, Dustin Free (Amber), Brandon Johnson (Kim) and Bella White, her sisters; Diane Henderson (Bob) Jerusalem, Arkansas, and Janice Eperson (Terry) Hector, Arkansas , 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Ruth cherished time spent with her sisters and her numerous friends. Ruth loved her daily trips with the love of her life, “Dennie” to Walmart and Sam’s Club, where she always found joy in life’s simple moments.
She was a member of the Sandstone Drive Church of Christ, where she found strength and fellowship in her faith.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Hospice Home Care and their compassionate staff for the exceptional care and kindness they provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dorcas House in Little Rock, Arkansas in Ruth’s memory. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Joyce Grant for caring for our Ruth in her final months.
Ruth’s selfless spirit will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held at Sandstone Drive Church of Christ on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Visitation will start at 10 AM followed by the funeral service at 11 AM.
