Mary Jane (Haynes) Freimark, 88, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home, Hot Springs, S.D.
Mary Jane was born on November 3, 1935, to Mabel and Calvin Haynes at Aniston, Ala. At the age of two months the Haynes family moved to Los Angeles, Calif. She married Oliver Freimark in 1953 and moved to the Freimark family farm in Eureka, S.D. Together they raised two daughters; Donna Marie and Debra Sue.
She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver; parents, Mabel and Calvin Haynes; sister, Nettie Sue Haynes; and daughter, Debra Smith.
Mary Jane is survived by daughter, Donna (Lyle) Hartshorn; grandchildren, Darrell and Christopher Smith, Travis, Lucas, and Tanya Hartshorn, Wendy (Jeff) Roeh; great-grandchildren, David, Jacob, Lena, and Hanna Hartshorn, Trevor, Levi, and Kamila Hartshorn, Lynn, Clayton, and Rylie Smith, Karlee Gibbins; great-great-grandchildren, Clinton and Carter Gibbins; brothers, Jim Haynes, Dave Garrett, and sister, Patsy Haynes.
Visitation is Friday, October 25, 2024, 12 to 2 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Sturgis, S.D., with funeral services following. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
