Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & CrematoryMary Frances Ward Frey passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026, one day after celebrating her 94th birthday. Born in Hiram, Georgia, on January 28, 1932, she was the daughter of the late James Ward and the late Mary Canup Ward. In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Frey; her children, Jenny Hess and Andy Frey; her brothers, Robert Ward, Franklin Ward, and Michael Ward; her grandchildren, Lester York and Tracy Frey; and her great-grandchildren, Nikki Clayton and Vince Frey.
A woman of deep faith, Frances was a member of Rehoboth Christian Center. She was an ordained minister and made it her life's mission to spread the rightly divided word of God. Frances was a mighty interceder and prayer warrior. Her family will dearly miss her, as well as her friends at the church and the Senior Center. She lived an extraordinary life and lived to see the 6th generation of her family.
A great legacy she leaves behind in her grandchildren: Glen & Vicki Runion, Harold II & Michelle Frey, Mary & Tony Hammonds, Adelia York & Paul Morales, Jackie Frey, and Ginger Frey; and her great grandchildren: Ashley & Matthew Frazier, Crystal & Michael Conner, JennyLeigh & Cliff Irvin, Nathan & Austin Summerville, Sabrina Frey, Ryan Runion, Christiana Clayton, Vada Frey, Cami & Graym Brown, Gracie Frey, Harley Runion, Amanda Ayers, Alvin Stephens, Josh Stephens, Tori Branham, Katelyn Honea, Pablo Morales, and Eve Morales. Also surviving are 35 great great-grandchildren and 5 great great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many who considered her their church mother and grandmother in love.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated.
The family will host a celebration of Frances' life on April 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Rehoboth Christian Center in Tallapoosa. On this special day we will also remember the anniversary of Harold and Frances' union.
Remembering her with much love, we also remember her favorite scripture: Isaiah 40:31, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
