Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral HomeMary S. Fullagar, age 92, of Penn Yan, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, February 28, 2026 with her loving family by her side.
Born on May 23, 1933 in Dundee, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Garrison) Spencer. Mary was a homemaker after marrying in 1953, raising five children, and working on the family farm alongside her husband. Later, when her children graduated high school, she worked as a nursing assistant at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Canandaigua for 17 years. A faith-filled woman from a young age, Mary was a member of Second Milo Baptist Church, Penn Yan. She loved her family and enthusiastically cooked, baked, and sewed for them as a homemaker. Mary was always an avid reader, delighted in caring for her many plants and flowers, and had fun antiquing. She looked forward to quality time with extended family at picnics and reunions. Mary loved to travel, camping when her family was young, then taking trips with her daughters to Colorado, England, Scotland and Wales. Later in her life, she spent hours working jigsaw puzzles with her daughters or friends, and solving Sudoku.
Mary is survived by her three daughters Karen Fullagar, Nancy (David) Wright, Teresa (Robert) Chester; and her grandchildren Justin (Marissa) Flynn and Amanda Chester; and great-grandchildren Madelyn and Bennett Flynn; and great grand dog Tanana, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mary in passing was her beloved husband, Robert, of 57 years. Also preceding her were her two sons, Alan and Daryl Fullagar; and brothers John, Howard, George, and Raymond Spencer; and her sister Ramona Spencer.
Friends are invited to attend Mary's Memorial Service, which will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 14th at Second Milo Baptist Church, located at 1964 Second Milo Rd., Penn Yan, NY with Rev. David Daniels, and Rev. Jeremy Spencer officiating. Interment will take place in the Second Milo Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
