Mary Ganley, 86, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025.
Born Mary Christina Smith on June 11, 1939, in Tramore, Ireland, she was known affectionately as Mamie to those back home. Mary was the daughter of the late Michael Smith and Mary O'Neil. She was predeceased by her beloved sisters Alice Feeley and Helen Hutchinson, and her brother Michael Smith.
Mary left her home in Ireland to start a new life in New York, settling in the Bronx where she raised her four children and became a cherished member of her community. She dedicated decades to working in healthcare, where her strong work ethic, kindness, and genuine care for others made a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Family was everything to Mary. She is survived by her children George, Shawn and his wife Nelly, Dawn, and Christopher; her grandchildren Ray, Alexis, and Shayna; and her siblings Kathleen Nutt, Ann Farrell, Sean, Erik, Dano, and Joseph Smith.
A devoted mother, proud grandmother, and a woman of remarkable strength and heart, Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation: Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
